Preparation Method For Cleaning Sponges

The primary material used for mainstream cleaning sponges is melamine-formaldehyde resin foam. During preparation, additives-such as emulsifiers, cleaning aids, and curing agents-are typically incorporated to enhance the foam's performance; specifically, the addition level of anionic surfactants should fall within the range of 1% to 60%.

 

Edge-compressed sponges are manufactured using a hot-pressing principle, typically utilizing high-density sponge material-with yellow sponge being a particularly common choice. The production process involves dual-mold compression and single-step molding: the high-density sponge is placed into a heated mold maintained at a specific temperature, where it takes approximately 35 seconds to take shape. This process also allows for the simultaneous hot-pressing of a brand logo onto the material.

 

An advanced method for preparing composite materials involves using flexible melamine foam as a substrate, which is then composited with a co-precursor system comprising methyltrimethoxysilane and vinyltrimethoxysilane. This approach enables the material to acquire superhydrophobic properties without the need for any separate surface modification steps. The composite material is prepared using an atmospheric-pressure drying process, and the entire preparation procedure takes approximately 48 hours to complete.
