How to Use Cleaning Sponges

Mar 10, 2026|

When sufficiently saturated with water, these cleaning sponges can be used much like an eraser to effectively remove dirt and grime.

These cleaning sponges can be easily cut into various sizes (using a blade or knife) to suit the specific dimensions or surface areas of different objects being cleaned.

As a consumable product, the sponge will gradually wear down and crumble into fragments during use. Optimal results are achieved by maintaining an appropriate moisture level; if used while too dry, the material will wear away and disintegrate more rapidly.

Given that their primary component is melamine-formaldehyde resin, the use of these sponges may result in the release of microplastics. For every gram of material abraded during cleaning, approximately 6.5 million microplastic fibers may be released. my country's mandatory national standards explicitly prohibit the use of such products for cleaning food items, as well as for cleaning the mouth or any surfaces that come into direct contact with food. It is recommended that these sponges be used solely for cleaning non-food-contact surfaces-such as faucets, tiles, and appliance exteriors-and that gloves be worn during use. Furthermore, they should strictly be avoided when cleaning electrical appliances that are wet or in contact with water.
